Nicole is a Shoreview resident and longtime advocate for young children. She is running for Ramsey County Commissioner in District 1. A mother of two, Frethem has more than a decade of first-hand experience supporting young families and their children both in the private and public sectors. She has spent her career focused on providing for families through direct service, policy changes, and system solutions. Frethem’s unique combination of experiences have shown her the challenges facing government and small businesses. Growing up in the Twin Cities, Frethem received her bachelor’s degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, a master’s degree from Concordia University in St. Paul and currently is pursuing a law degree at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She lives in Shoreview with her husband and two daughters.
