A Word From Marc: OK, we made it through the Super Bowl. We enjoyed the Olympics. We all bought candy for someone and now we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Literally I'm seeing more light. I know sometimes it seems like two steps forward one step back but the way I look at life is we have only one choice. Perpetual forward motion. The other day someone told me house prices are too high. I responded home values are not too high, they are just what they are. They're higher than they were yesterday and they're lower than they're going to be next year. It's the nature of real estate. Historically in the last seventy years housing prices have gone down once in 2008 and they immediately shot back up in the following years. Stop waiting. The best time to buy real estate is as soon as you can. My daughters bought houses 40 years after I bought my first house and literally paid over 10 times more. It's not good or bad. Homes don't care if we have an opinion on their value. I know it's a cliche but it's true the market determines a home's value and one of the factors in that market is us. As people, we buy a house to raise families and to share meals with the people we care for and care about. I recently became a grandpa. Thank you. I know, it's pretty cool. Teddy will have a great life and hopefully he will buy a house someday. Yes it will be more expensive than what my daughter paid for hers. Is this sustainable? Well, history would say yes. Is it fair? Houses don't care. We do have a choice and that's whether we step forward into our own home or someone else's. Big shout out to Korey and Cory of the Duluth Curling Club for bringing home the Silver and to Cory for being the first US woman to win a curling medal. Congratulations and go Duluth! Be well! Marc.
