A Word From Marc: "You do what you say and say what you do". That's what one of my clients said to me the other day. I nodded my head and said thanks. That's a solid compliment to me. As a New Yorker it comes pretty naturally to speak frankly. It throws some Minnesotans off to say what you really feel and to give an honest answer even if it's not the expected one. Being direct and honest is practically a N.Y. Creed. Minnesota on the other hand isn't exactly where emotions go to be shared. It's OK to be emotional and to share what one is really feeling at the moment. It's actually preferred by some places in the world although it's not the usual form of communication in the Mid West. One of my favorite stories to tell is one where I got into a heated argument with this guy on a Manhattan street corner one afternoon. Ten minutes later we were in the nearest bar buying each other beers sharing how annoying our siblings were over the holidays. We don't have to agree with everyone. We don't even need to understand but we can listen. Tell people how you feel. Get it out and get over it. My clients hire me to give them truthful advice that will sell their house and maximize its value. There are always things we can do to improve a house. Most of these are simple changes that can be done to make a home much more attractive to a buyer. This requires a level of trust and honesty that I don't ever take for granted. Please don't take it personally if I say those curtains have to go back to revisit the 1970's. I know a few homes on Staten Island that could still use them. I have a couple homes coming to market soon in North Oaks. One is a great lakeshore rambler with views that are just killer. Stay tuned and speak your mind. I guarantee your friends will love you for it. Siblings, not so much. -Marc LAKESHORE - COMING SOON MARC OWENS - KURTZ 612-751-6472 | MARC@LAKESMN.COM TOP PRODUCER & REGULAR GUY!
